Abstract

Im Juni 2010 haben sich die Europäischen Regierungen auf eine neue Wachstumsstrategie bis zum Jahr 2020 geeinigt, die erstmals und ausdrücklich einen Schwerpunkt zur Verringerung von Armut und sozialer Ausgrenzung mit konkreten Zielgrößen formuliert. Die österreichische Bundesregierung hat sich das Ziel gesetzt, die Zahl der Personen, die sich in sozialen Problemlagen befinden, bis 2020 um über 220.000 zu reduzieren. Die vorliegende Publikation der Statistik Austria präsentiert aktuelle Ergebnisse aus EU-SILC (Statistics on Income and Living Conditions) 2009 zu Einkommen, Armutsgefährdung und Lebensbedingungen österreichischer Privathaushalte in Österreich. EU-Verordnungen bilden die rechtliche Grundlage für diese jährliche Erhebung, die seit 2008 zu 100% vom BMASK finanziert wird.
