Abstract

Short-Cycle-Qualifikationen sind in vielen Industrieländern eingeführt worden, um dem Bedarf an höherer beruflicher Fachkräftebildung zu entsprechen und zugleich für weiterführende akademische Bildungswege zu befähigen. Der Bericht erläutert den Stellenwert dieser Qualifikationen im Bildungs- und Beschäftigungssystem der USA, in der EU und exemplarisch für einige Mitgliedsstaaten sowie die Kriterien der Qualifikationsgestaltung, Qualitätssicherung und -entwicklung. Schließlich wird aufgezeigt, welche Anknüpfungspunkte und Empfehlungen sich aus diesen Befunden für berufliche Qualifikationen in Deutschland bezogen auf das Niveau 5 des Deutschen und des Europäischen Qualifikationsrahmens an der Schnittstelle beruflicher und akademischer Bildung ableiten lassen.
