Abstract

Die Analyse der Unternehmenskonzentration zielt darauf ab, den Einfluss großer Unternehmen auf den Wettbewerb abzuschätzen. Von einer hohen sektoralen Konzentration können potenziell wettbewerbsbeschränkende Effekte ausgehen. Ein quantitatives Konzentrationsmonitoring zur Identifikation von wettbewerbsbeschränkten Märkten stellt deshalb ein wichtiges evidenzbasiertes Instrument einer vorausschauenden Wettbewerbspolitik dar. Eine Machbarkeitsstudie für Österreich zeigt, dass die bewährte Konzentrationsstatistik der deutschen Monopolkommission grundsätzlich auch in Österreich implementiert werden könnte.
