Abstract

Die Wiener Wirtschaft erholte sich im zweiten Pandemiejahr nach dem tiefen Einbruch im Krisenjahr 2020 rasch. Gestützt durch Rebound-Effekte im Konsum und kräftige internationale Nachfrageimpulse (auch) nach Dienstleistungen nahm die regionale Bruttowertschöpfung im 1. Halbjahr 2021 um real 4,3% zu, im gesamten Jahr 2021 dürfte das regionale Wachstum 5,0% erreicht haben. In Wien vor allem durch Aufwärtstendenzen in den (arbeitsintensiveren) Dienstleistungsbereichen ausgelöst, ließ diese Erholung eine markante und auch im nationalen Vergleich hohe Beschäftigungsdynamik zu (2021: Wien +3,2%, Österreich +2,4%). Damit dürfte die Arbeitslosenquote 2021 bei 12,7% zu liegen kommen, nach noch 15,1% im Jahr 2020. 2022 ist nach WIFO-Vorausschau eine Fortsetzung der Aufwärtstendenz zu erwarten, was auch die Arbeitsmarktlage in Wien nochmals leicht verbessern wird. Zu erwarten ist ein weiterer Zuwachs der regionalen Wertschöpfung von real 4,1% und der Wiener Beschäftigung von 1,8%, die Arbeitslosenquote sollte damit weiter auf 12,1% zurückgehen und nur noch marginal über ihrem Vorkrisenniveau liegen.
