Abstract

Construction in Europe is expected to decline again in 2012 for the fifth time in a row after the crisis in 2008. Within the 19 Euroconstruct countries a downturn of 0.3 percent is expected. The development is very heterogeneous throughout Europe. On the one hand, Spain, UK, Portugal and Ireland are still suffering from the aftermath of the financial and economic crisis. On the other hand, mainly the central and northern countries show a stable recovery. The Euroconstruct Country Report provides detailed information on the construction market development and its fundamentals in the 19 Euroconstruct member countries until 2014. The forecasts and analyses are presented on the country level and are based on a comparable harmonised dataset for the major construction sectors and indicators. The macroeconomic framework is also included.
