Abstract

2009 was the worst year in European construction within this decade. Total construction output fell by 8.8 percent in the 19 Euroconstruct member countries. The European construction markets will consolidate in 2011. This is reflected by the slight decline of about 0.1 percent on average compared to the previous year. A cautious recovery is expected from 2012 onwards – nevertheless, in 2013 the construction output of the 19 Euroconstruct countries with a volume of about 1,341 billion € will be lower than in 2007. The Euroconstruct Summary Report contains a macroeconomic analysis and an overview of the European construction industry by sectors (housing, non-residential construction and civil engineering) up to 2013. The Summary Report additionally includes most of the speeches of the 70th Euroconstruct Conference held in Budapest on 3 December 2010.
