Abstract

Das österreichische Außenwirtschaftsjahrbuch ist eine kompakte und informative Zusammenstellung der wesentlichen weltweiten und österreichspezifischen außenhandelsrelevanten Entwicklungen. Es wurde 2009 zum dritten Mal vom Kompetenzzentrum "Forschungsschwerpunkt Internationale Wirtschaft – FIW", einem Kooperationsprojekt von WIFO, wiiw und WSR, herausgegeben. Auftraggeber ist das Bundesministerium für Wirtschaft, Familie und Jugend (BMWFJ). "Österreichs Außenwirtschaft 2009" bietet der ökonomisch interessierten Leserschaft zahlreiche Analysen und umfangreiches Datenmaterial zu den institutionellen und konjunkturellen Rahmenbedingungen des Welthandels, zum österreichischen Waren- und Dienstleistungshandel und zu den ausländischen Direktinvestitionen von und nach Österreich. Der Schwerpunkt des Buches liegt auf der Entwicklung des Jahres 2008, darüber hinaus wird ein Ausblick auf 2009 gegeben, auch unter Berücksichtigung der Auswirkungen der Wirtschaftkrise. Das Jahresthema widmet sich der Frage "Neuer Protektionismus – eine Gefahr für den Welthandel?" und beleuchtet aus unterschiedlichen Perspektiven die krisenbedingten protektionistischen Tendenzen, die weltweit – und mitunter in neuen Ausprägungen – zu beobachten sind.
