Abstract

The 64th Euroconstruct conference presented market trends to 2010 by different sectors such as the housing market, non-residential market, civil engineering in the 19 Euroconstruct countries, but also in Russia, South Eastern Europe, Turkey, Middle East and North Africa. The economic revival in Europe led to a boom in construction in 2006 which slightly weakened in 2007 and will slow down further until 2010 in Western Europe. The global crisis in the financial markets has resulted in a more cautious approach to investment in western Europe. In eastern Europe the upswing becomes stronger. The highest growth rates are expected in Poland (about +15 percent), Russia (+10 percent) and Turkey (+20 percent).
