Innovation & Klima: Innovative Klimastrategien für die österreichische Wirtschaft

Abstract

Im Rahmen des Kyoto-Protokolls haben sich die meisten Industriestaaten – mit Ausnahme der USA – zu einer Verringerung der Emissionen von Treibhausgasen verpflichtet. Österreich muss demnach in den Jahren 2008 bis 2012 diese Emissionen gegenüber dem Niveau 1990 um 13% senken. Derzeit liegen die Emissionen allerdings um 18% darüber. Angesichts dieser gravierenden Herausforderung für Wirtschaft und Politik unterstützt Innovation & Klima als Klimaplattform der österreichischen Wirtschaft mit folgenden Intentionen die österreichische Klimapolitik: 1. Die Klimapolitik wird als ein Instrument der wirtschaftlichen Innovation im Sinne der Lissabon-Strategie der Europäischen Union positioniert. 2. Für die drei Sektoren Mobilität, Gebäude sowie Industrie und Energie werden Strategien mit hohem Innovationspotential, starker Signalwirkung und politischer Konsensfähigkeit vorgestellt. Maßnahmen, die diese drei Kriterien erfüllen, werden in diesem Projekt als "Top-Aktivitäten" bezeichnet.
