Herausforderungen durch den Globalisierungswettlauf in der EU. Erste quantitative Erfahrungen für ausgewählte EU-Länder

Abstract

Die Studie erarbeitet empirische Grundlagen für die Beurteilung der Ausgangslage und Voraussetzungen der einzelnen EU-Länder, insbesondere der kleinen Mitgliedstaaten, für die erfolgreiche Bewältigung der Herausforderungen durch die Globalisierung. Der Stellung Österreichs im Globalisierungswettlauf wird dabei besonderes Augenmerk geschenkt. Darüber hinaus werden die wesentlichsten Rückwirkungen der Globalisierung auf Beschäftigung, Wachstum, Produktivität usw. in einzelnen Wirtschaftsbereichen in den kleinen EU-Ländern identifiziert. Erste quantitative Erfahrungen über das unterschiedliche Gefährdungspotential dieser Länder durch die Globalisierung können auf dieser Grundlage gewonnen werden. Ein Überblick über die wirtschaftspolitischen Antworten in den einzelnen EU-Ländern soll Aufschluß über die Bedeutung der Wirtschaftspolitik als Steuerungsmechanismus im modernen Globalisierungsprozeß geben.
