Prognose für 2009 und 2010: Maßnahmen zur Konjunkturstabilisierung zeigen erste Wirkung

Abstract

Im Gefolge der internationalen Wirtschaftskrise brachen die heimischen Exporte seit Anfang 2009 gegenüber dem Vorjahr ein. In den Industrieländern zeigen allerdings die Fiskalpakete erste Wirkungen. Nicht nur in Österreich, sondern auch im übrigen Euro-Raum und in den USA weisen die Unternehmensumfragen auf eine Stabilisierung der Lage ab der zweiten Jahreshälfte hin. Im II. Quartal wird die Wirtschaftsleistung in Österreich gegenüber dem Vorquartal aber erneut sinken. Das Konjunkturbild entspricht deshalb im Wesentlichen dem der Frühjahrsprognose des WIFO. Weil die Entwicklung aber im I. Quartal ungünstiger ausgefallen ist als erwartet, revidiert das WIFO seine Wachstumsprognose für das gesamte Jahr 2009 auf –3,4%. Die Prognose einer Stabilisierung im Jahr 2010 mit einer Wachstumsrate von 0,5% wird beibehalten.
