Abstract

Die österreichische Wirtschaft befand sich in einer anhaltend schwierigen Phase. Für 2024 ergibt sich ein Rückgang des Bruttoinlandsproduktes um 1,2%, für 2025 laut aktueller Prognose eine weitere Abnahme um 0,3%. Besonders die Sachgütererzeugung litt unter den aktuellen Bedingungen. Im IV. Quartal 2024 zeigten sich regional deutliche Unterschiede in der wirtschaftlichen Entwicklung. Die Nächtigungszahlen im Tourismus entwickelten sich in den Bundesländern Wien und den meisten westlichen Bundesländern besonders dynamisch. Regionen mit stärkerer Ausrichtung auf die Sachgütererzeugung erlebten größere Herausforderungen. Das schwierige konjunkturelle Umfeld spiegelte sich auch auf dem Arbeitsmarkt wider. Im IV. Quartal 2024 stagnierte die unselbständige Beschäftigung in Österreich mit +0,2% weitestgehend, wobei große regionale Unterschiede zu verzeichnen waren, mit +1,2% in Wien bis zu –0,5% in Oberösterreich und Kärnten. Entsprechend kam es in Österreich zu einem Anstieg der Arbeitslosenzahlen um 9,3%, wobei Oberösterreich mit +16,1% den kräftigsten und Kärnten mit +2,9% den geringsten Anstieg hinnehmen musste.
