Abstract

This document presents a brief overview of the Nigerian fish market, examines the systemic challenges facing the three pillars of a sustainable market as they exist today in the country, details several exogenous issues impacting investment in the aquaculture sector at present and enumerates specific “shovelready” and longer-term investment opportunities available to public and private financiers at both the cluster and small-scale producers levels, as well as the national level, to help the Nigerian aquaculture market reach its full potential.
