Notas en teoría de la incertidumbre

Abstract

Las decisiones de los individuos en contextos de incertidumbre son un problema microeconómico habitual. La incertidumbre es un elemento inherente a una parte importante de las opciones de los consumidores, las empresas y los gobiernos en temas como las inversiones, los seguros, las compras de bienes muebles e inmuebles, la evasión tributaria y la regulación de industrias. En este libro se presentan los aspectos conceptuales y metodológicos para el análisis de la incertidumbre. Se postula que, en todos los casos, los individuos escogen entre las opciones riesgosas disponibles aquella que optimiza su bienestar. Asimismo, se explican las características del enfoque de la “función de utilidad esperada,” se señalan los límites del mismo y se discute sobre las contribuciones de la incertidumbre en distintos ámbitos del conocimiento económico.
