Terrenos comunes para el diálogo en ciencias sociales y teología. Desarrollo y libertad en Sen y Gutierrez

Abstract

La desconfianza de las ciencias sociales en la manera de ver la realidad que proviene de los que practican alguna religión o que proponen las religiones es conocida. Las ciencias sociales son un producto de la modernidad y está rechaza la autoridad, especialmente, la que se ejercía desde el mundo religioso. Una expresión de ello es la búsqueda de un status científico por parte de las dichas ciencias para, por ese medio: lograr una incuestionable claridad en la separación entre los planteamientos doctrinarios de origen religioso y las afirmaciones resultantes de la investigación social. Esa investigación tenía que dar resultados convincentes por sí mismos, sin necesidad de alguna autoridad que los refrendara. Sin duda, el conocimiento se hacía en un cierto sentido más democrático pues no era necesario ser autoridad para sustentarlo y exigir a los demás su aceptación.
