Abstract

El libro examina la situación en Perú, un país con uno de los más altos niveles de desigualdad económica y social en el mundo. Se centra en los factores que explican el patrón y el grado de desigualdad y propone un nuevo marco teórico basado en el concepto de exclusión social. El análisis es multidisciplinario. Integra las perspectivas de la economía, la sociología y la antropología, la introducción de los conceptos de bienes sociales y los mercados, y exploran la importancia de la cultura. Se presta especial atención a los procesos de exclusión de los mercados básicos, es decir, aquellos a través del cual las personas generan ingresos y reducir los riesgos; de los derechos de ciudadanía; y de las redes sociales.
