Business process outsourcing in mechanical engineering

Abstract

The object of this study are the active non-financial enterprises from section C28 "Manufacture of general and special-purpose machinery and equipment", operating in the territory of the Veliko Tarnovo district. The main goal is to study the opportunities that outsourcing provides to Bulgarian machine-building enterprises to increase their competitive ability, as well as to establish the degree of use of these opportunities. To achieve the set goal, the following tasks have been formulated: First, to study and summarize the theoretical statements regarding the essence and content-organizational aspects of outsourcing and the business process. Second, to develop a methodological toolkit for the study. Third, to analyze and assess the state of the surveyed enterprises. Fourth, to reveal the features of machine-building that favor the application of outsourcing. Fifth, to analyze and assess the application of business process outsourcing in machine-building enterprises from the Veliko Tarnovo district. Sixth, to consider the opportunities for acquiring competitive advantages through the use of outsourcing. Seventh, to identify the main risks accompanying the implementation of outsourcing, as well as to indicate the tools and methods for their management. Based on the research work carried out and the application of a number of approaches, methods and analyses, the following scientific and scientific-applied contributions have been achieved: 1. Based on a thorough analysis of the opinions, views and opinions existing in the specialized scientific literature, author's definitions of outsourcing and business process have been derived. In terms of content, knowledge about outsourcing and business processes has been supplemented and enriched. 2. A thorough analysis of business processes in machine-building enterprises from the Veliko Tarnovo region has been carried out and the main problems facing business entities in the industry have been identified. 3. A model of competitive advantages that enterprises in the industry can achieve through the implementation of outsourcing has been constructed. This model includes the potential competitive advantages that enterprises can achieve both as a client and as a supplier of various outsourcing services. 4. The real and potential risks arising from the implementation of outsourcing are examined and analyzed, and methods and tools for their management are proposed
