Abstract

Con el fin de apoyar acciones encaminadas a fomentar la convivencia y seguridad ciudadana, elemento indispensable del desarrollo económico y social de América Latina y el Caribe, el BID organizó el Foro de Convivencia y Seguridad Ciudadana que se realizó en San Salvador, El Salvador, del 2 al 4 de junio de 1998. Este libro recoge algunos trabajos y experiencias presentados en el Foro, evento en el cual participaron reconocidos expertos internacionales, destacados representantes de los gobiernos latinoamericanos y de la sociedad civil de la región, instituciones gubernamentales y organismos internacionales.
