Fuentes del crecimiento y productividad en Europa y América Latina

Abstract

Esta monografía analiza la diversidad de experiencias de crecimiento de distintos países de Latinoamérica y Europa, desde una perspectiva internacional comparada, y, además, ofrece diversos diagnósticos sobre el papel de las fuentes de crecimiento y de la productividad para la solución de problemas como la salida de la crisis actual y el diseño de las políticas futuras. Para ello integra nueve aportaciones de destacados investigadores americanos y europeos sobre fuentes del crecimiento y productividad en un amplio número de países a partir de las ponencias presentadas en el seminario internacional Productividad y crecimiento en Latinoamérica y Europa: experiencias y enfoques recientes, organizado por la Fundación BBVA y el Ivie en octubre del 2008, en Buenos Aires. Todos los trabajos recogidos en el volumen presentan investigaciones empíricas, fundamentadas en las versiones más avanzadas de la contabilidad del crecimiento. La mayoría contemplan varias décadas y se apoyan en bases de datos recientes que aportan mejoras sustanciales a la información sobre las dotaciones de factores y los cambios de calidad de los mismos, permitiendo nuevas comparaciones internacionales que enriquecen sustancialmente el análisis.
