Este volumen publica los manuscritos de los estudiantes de economía de Santiago Pérez, en la Universidad Nacional de Colombia, allí se define la economía como la ciencia que estudia las leyes de la producción, distribución y el consumo de la riqueza, y la estrecha relación con la estadística, la cual expone aritméticamente los hechos sociales.
