Jorge Isaacs. Obras completas.Poesía, canciones y coplas populares, traducciones

  • María Teresa Cristina
Registered author(s):

    La poesía de Jorge Isaacs es todavía bastante desconocida; ha sido relegada al olvido, subvalorada o valorada negativamente y editada de manera parcial en textos mutilados, plagados de malas lecturas y erratas que se van repitiendo de edición en edición. El autor nunca abandonó la actividad poética a lo largo de su azarosa vida, pero a su muerte solo una mínima parte de sus versos habían sido recogidos en libro o en folletos. Las recopilaciones de Roa, Pola y Sanín Cano no representaron ni siquiera la tercera parte de su producción. En 1967 Romero recogió un número considerable de poemas, pero su edición descuidó el aspecto textual. Un estudio ponderado de la producción poética de Isaacs requiere un examen previo de las fuentes primarias y de las ediciones que permita depurar los textos y establecer la versión definitiva de los mismos.
