    En este verdadero ensayo antropológico Carlos Guillermo Páramo nos conduce y seduce. Los dos grandes monstruos de las vorágines, Lope de Aguirre y Arturo Cova son la disculpa de una compañía analítica que difícilmente ofrecen otras facturas literarias o ensayísticas contemporáneas. Allí reside el valor de la propuesta de Páramo: analizar y recrear, crear y volver al mito. La agudeza del relato y su tono literario, en el sentido de la buena escritura, recuperan así ese temido campo del ensayo y de la erudición, recuperando para las ciencias sociales un género que parece perderse en la nebulosa mercantil y competitiva de la escritura técnica. En hora buena nos propone Carlos Guillermo Páramo este sutil y analítico delirio, que no podemos olvidar como “siembra fuera del surco”.
