Ensayos sobre el desarrollo del transporte de carga en Colombia

Abstract

Estos ensayos describen la forma como el transporte colombiano se ha desarrollado desde que hubo comercio en el país. Dan cuenta del papel que tuvieron el río Magdalena, los rieles y las carreteras en su articulación. Es un registro desde la prehistoria hasta nuestros días, que muestra cómo los planes de carreteras siguieron las trochas indígenas y los caminos reales la Colonia. Se registra el papel del río Magdalena en la integración del país, la función cumplida por las redes férreas y de los planes viales que han soportado el transporte automotor. Los acápites sobre el transporte de arriería y la navegación fluvial son una muestra gráfica de cómo la organización del primero y los sistemas administrativos de éste dieron entidad a la empresa de transporte terrestre automotor en Colombia. Es la visión de quien creó empresas e innovó; señaló falencias y dio soluciones, que durante toda su vida profesional ha hecho parte del proceso de cambios en el transporte colombiano y andino: la visión del técnico, investigador y humanista, como lo es el autor.
