Derechos humanos, aborto y eutanasia

Abstract

Los problemas en torno a los derechos humanos tienen múltiples expresiones y ramificaciones. En su fase germinal, las acciones institucionales encaminadas a la defensa de esos derechos estuvieron centradas en la proscripción de hechos y prácticas que atentaban contra la libertad, la seguridad y la dignidad de las personas.En este volumen se abordan dos asuntos relevantes desde el punto de vista de los derechos humanos: el aborto y la eutanasia. Ha interesado identificar la situación de México en el contexto del derecho comparado.Por ser el aborto y la eutanasia muy polémicos, la posición de los autores es clara. Consideran que el Estado constitucional se basa en la libertad, la justicia, la seguridad, la equidad, el respeto por la dignidad de las personas y el laicismo de las instituciones. Así, imponer una concepción religiosa o moral, aunque sea la mayoritaria en una sociedad, atenta contra la libre convicción, la libertad de conciencia, de pensamiento y de cultos, lo cual implica retroceder varios siglos e instalarse en la época en que el poder religioso intentó someter al político.
