Abstract

La gestión integrada de recursos hídricos es un proceso sistemático para el desarrollo, la asignación y el monitoreo de los usos del agua, que tiene en cuenta todas las variables que intervienen en el manejo del recurso. Es por ello por lo que así como es importante analizar la variable ambiental es necesario analizar también la variable jurídica, financiera y económica, entre otras. Esta obra permite a los gestores de los recursos hídricos, a los usuarios y a la administración estudiar las variables financieras y económicas en el manejo de tales recursos. Se analizan, así, asuntos relativos a la financiación para el desarrollo de programas y prestación de servicios relacionados con la gestión integrada de recursos hídricos, especialmente aquellos de carácter fiscal, y se estudian instrumentos económicos dirigidos a la recuperación de costos, así como algunos indicadores de eficiencia en el sector de acueducto y alcantarillado.
