Abstract

This report assesses the current state of supply chain digitalisation in ASEAN and examines the potential benefits of end-to-end data integration through a proof of concept (PoC) conducted in the automotive sector. It identifies key challenges, including fragmented digital systems, uneven levels of digital readiness, and limited interoperability across countries and firms. The study evaluates six ASEAN countries against four pillars of effective supply chain digitalisation: domestic process efficiency; seamless cross-border connectivity and interoperability; end-to-end, unit-level traceability and supply chain resilience; and secure and trustworthy digital infrastructure. The PoC findings indicate that real-time, unit-level data visibility can improve inventory stability, enhance on-time delivery performance, and strengthen overall supply chain resilience. Building on these results, the report offers policy recommendations aimed at supporting national reforms, promoting regional harmonisation, and advancing pilot-based, practical cooperation between public and private stakeholders. These measures seek to foster a secure, interoperable, business-driven, and resilient digital trade ecosystem across ASEAN.
