Abstract

"O trabalho está estruturado da seguinte forma. Na seção 1, discutiremos as funções de um sistema financeiro "ideal". Naturalmente, a identificação das funções mais importantes de um sistema financeiro depende do ponto de partida teórico do autor. Aqui será adotada a perspectiva keynesiana, cujas características centrais serão explicitadas nessa mesma seção. A segunda seção será dedicada à descrição das principais características do sistema financeiro brasileiro das últimas duas ou três décadas. Em seguida, discutiremos meios pelos quais se poderia tentar garantir que as funções não cumpridas no presente pudessem ser estimuladas para tornar o sistema financeiro nacional funcional no apoio ao desenvolvimento econômico liderado pelo capital doméstico. A última seção conclui o texto."
