Abstract

El Compromiso de Tlatelolco: Una Década de Acción para el Logro de la Igualdad Sustantiva de Género y la Sociedad del Cuidado fue aprobado por los Estados miembros de la Comisión Económica para América Latina y el Caribe (CEPAL) en la XVI Conferencia Regional sobre la Mujer de América Latina y el Caribe, celebrada en la Ciudad de México, en agosto de 2025. En el Compromiso se reconoce que la propuesta de sociedad del cuidado que aporta la región constituye un nuevo paradigma para el desarrollo sostenible, la igualdad y la paz, y se reconocen, asimismo, los cuidados como una necesidad, un derecho humano, un bien público, un trabajo y un sector dinamizador de la economía. Los acuerdos se organizan en torno a los siguientes ejes: i) marco normativo, institucionalidad, participación y fortalecimiento de capacidades estatales; ii) financiamiento y cooperación, y iii) sistemas de información, comunicación, tecnología, seguimiento, evaluación y rendición de cuentas. Además, los Estados reafirman su compromiso de promover un multilateralismo renovado, inclusivo y eficaz, y solicitan el acompañamiento del sistema de las Naciones Unidas en su implementación.
