Abstract

La guía para la transversalización de la perspectiva de género en la implementación del Acuerdo Regional sobre el Acceso a la Información, la Participación Pública y el Acceso a la Justicia en Asuntos Ambientales en América Latina y el Caribe (Acuerdo de Escazú) tiene por objetivo proporcionar información, orientación y medidas para integrar la perspectiva de género en la implementación del Acuerdo de Escazú a nivel local, nacional y regional. Busca favorecer el pleno ejercicio de los derechos de las mujeres en toda su diversidad a la información, la participación pública y la justicia en asuntos ambientales, así como en la labor de protección del medio ambiente en la región. Elaborada por la Comisión Económica para América Latina y el Caribe (CEPAL) a solicitud de la Conferencia de las Partes del Acuerdo de Escazú, se contó con el apoyo de expertas en derecho internacional, derecho ambiental e igualdad de género y una metodología participativa que se organizó en tres etapas de consulta en las que se recibieron aportes de Estados Partes, organismos, fondos y programas de las Naciones Unidas, organizaciones de mujeres, el sector académico y el público en general.
