Agenda 2030 en América Latina y el Caribe: ¿cómo acelerar el paso hacia su cumplimiento en la nueva era de incertidumbre y fragmentación geopolítica?

Abstract

Poco más de una década después de la aprobación de la Agenda 2030 para el Desarrollo Sostenible, el avance en el cumplimiento de los Objetivos de Desarrollo Sostenible (ODS) en América Latina y el Caribe es limitado. Solo un 19% de las metas de los ODS se alcanzarían en 2030. En 2025 e inicios de 2026 se han profundizado los desafíos para el cumplimiento de los ODS debido a una nueva era de incertidumbre y fragmentación geopolítica. El mundo es testigo de importantes rupturas: un mayor proteccionismo, una exacerbada competencia por la supremacía industrial y tecnológica, y una menor colaboración en materia de comercio, inversión, acceso a tecnología y apoyo financiero para el desarrollo. En esta nueva era, los países deben ser más pragmáticos. Deben implementar una mayor articulación entre gobierno, sector privado, sociedad civil, sector académico y otros actores, además de fortalecer sus capacidades institucionales y de movilización interna de recursos con el fin de acelerar la implementación de las acciones necesarias para avanzar en el cumplimiento de los ODS.
