Protocolo para la recolección y divulgación de datos sobre niños, niñas y adolescentes participantes en estudios

Abstract

El Grupo de Trabajo sobre Estadísticas de Infancia y Adolescencia de la Conferencia Estadística de las Américas ha venido trabajando desde 2015 con el objetivo de mejorar la capacidad de la región para producir estadísticas sobre niños, niñas y adolescentes. En este contexto, y tras constatar que no existen protocolos éticos de investigación estadística en la región, se propuso elaborar uno común para facilitar la recolección y difusión de datos sobre niños, niñas y adolescentes en las oficinas de estadística. Esta herramienta tiene en cuenta la especificidad regional, el efecto de las normas culturales y de género en el ámbito local y la previsión de posibles respuestas frente a situaciones delicadas (detectando aquellas situaciones en que los niños, niñas y adolescentes están en riesgo). De esta manera, permite establecer medidas para mitigar los posibles efectos negativos sobre los niños, niñas y adolescentes en el trabajo de campo. Para el diseño de esta propuesta, se tomó como base un diagnóstico cualitativo y cuantitativo de la investigación con niños, niñas y adolescentes en América Latina y el Caribe.
