Abstract

El COVID-19 y los efectos de las medidas que los gobiernos han tomado para controlar su rápida propagación han afectado a la mayor parte de la población mundial. Las Naciones Unidas, los gobiernos y diferentes organizaciones de la sociedad civil, el mundo académico y científico, entre otros actores del desarrollo, han advertido sobre las consecuencias diferenciadas de la pandemia, que suponen la profundización de las brechas existentes entre hombres y mujeres en diversas dimensiones. Por ello, han hecho un llamado a incorporar una perspectiva de igualdad de género en las políticas, medidas y programas destinados a la mitigación de la crisis y a la posterior recuperación. Los efectos en la salud sexual y reproductiva de mujeres y niñas, que constituye un factor clave para su autonomía, pueden ser particularmente graves.
