Abstract

Over recent decades, the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) and the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) of Germany have forged a strategic alliance founded on shared values and a common interest: furthering the sustainable and inclusive development of Latin America and the Caribbean. This document highlights some of the achievements that have resulted from this fruitful partnership over the past decade. It presents a selection of successful cases that show how Latin America and the Caribbean have benefited from the knowledge generated and experiences gained through this close cooperation, which both organizations consider a example to be followed for the twenty-first century.
