Abstract

El presente trabajo constituye un aporte de la Comisión Económica para América Latina y el Caribe (CEPAL) para el Foro de Rectores de las Américas 2015, en el marco de la Séptima Cumbre de las Américas (Ciudad de Panamá, 10 y 11 de abril de 2015). Dicha reunión de las máximas autoridades de centros educativos es una instancia propicia para debatir los puntos que aquí se presentan e identificar caminos para terminar definitivamente con modelos segregadores de educación elitista e iniciar una nueva era: la de la educación pública, gratuita y de calidad para todos.
