Balance económico actualizado de América Latina y el Caribe 2012

Abstract

En el presente informe se actualizan los datos y estimaciones del Balance Preliminar de América Latina y el Caribe 2012, publicado en diciembre de 2012, y se presenta un análisis resumido de las tendencias económicas sobre la base de información reciente. La actualización de las estadísticas y del análisis permite concluir que se confirman las grandes tendencias identificadas en el Balance Preliminar, lo que incluye un crecimiento del PIB de un 3,0% en América Latina y el Caribe para 2012 (en el Balance se preveía un crecimiento del 3,1%). A continuación, sobre la base de cifras e información del año en conjunto, se evalúan el contexto externo, las principales políticas monetarias, cambiarias y fiscales y el desempeño de la región atendiendo a los datos de crecimiento del PIB, empleo, inflación y salarios. El informe concluye con una consideración del entorno externo y de las proyecciones de crecimiento para la región en 2013, cuyo PIB se estima que crecerá el 3,5%.
