La política externa del Brasil y las políticas de estabilización en la década de 1980

Abstract

Presenta los problemas que encaraba la economía brasilera a comienzos de los años 80; esboza las características principales de dos programas de estabilización durante la presidencia del General Figueiredo: en 1981-1982 sin la supervisión del FMI y en 1983-1984 en virtud de un acuerdo con el FMI; evalúa la coherencia de los programas y se comparan sus resultados; y examina las limitaciones vinculadas con la posición externa vulnerable del Brasil así como las razones de por qué se superaron con éxito.
