Abstract

El analisis de las caracteristicas de mujeres del estrato popular urbano en 5 ciudades de America Latina se inserta en una linea de investigacion iniciada recientemente en CEPAL. El documento consta de dos partes. Una, de caracter estadistico que reune 18 cuadros, elaborados a partir de las encuestas de hogares de 1982, organizados por paises y que incluyen las caracteristicas de las mujeres en las 5 areas seleccionadas, a saber Lima-Callao, Bogota, Caracas, San Jose y ciudad de Panama. La segunda parte acompana a esta informacion y se limita a discutir los rasgos comunes al universo estudiado.
