Abstract

Este estudio responde a una solicitud realizada a finales de 2020 por la Carnegie Climate Governance Initiative (C2G) y la Comisión Económica para América Latina y el Caribe (CEPAL) a la Fundación Torcuato Di Tella. El informe sintetiza el mejor entendimiento de las potenciales implicaciones de la adopción de opciones basadas en la naturaleza y tecnologías para la remoción de dióxido de carbono (RDC), con el objetivo de complementar la reducción directa de emisiones de gases de efecto invernadero. Los hallazgos obtenidos se basan en la revisión de la literatura científica y técnica disponible y abordan las implicancias económicas, sociales y ambientales de la implementación de las opciones tecnológicas de RDC. Las implicaciones son examinadas de cara al logro de los Objetivos de Desarrollo Sostenible (ODS) y la contribución a la mitigación de cambio climático que la implementación de las RDC pueda tener en Argentina y Colombia, y, de modo más general ,en América Latina y el Caribe.
