Abstract

En 2015, la Asamblea General de las Naciones Unidas acordó la Agenda 2030 para el Desarrollo Sostenible. En ella se plantea, como segundo Objetivo de Desarrollo Sostenible (ODS), poner fin al hambre, lograr la seguridad alimentaria, mejorar la nutrición, y promover la agricultura sostenible.Con el fin de poder contribuir a estos objetivos en los países del Sistema de Integración Centroamericana (SICA), en este documento se propone desarrollar una visión más sistémica de la Seguridad Alimentaria y Nutricional (SAN), partiendo de las cuatro dimensiones propuestas por FAO: disponibilidad, acceso, uso biológico y estabilidad. Se presenta información disponible en la región y se analiza al maíz como caso de estudio.
