El aporte del comercio justo al desarrollo sostenible

Abstract

El presente documento se enfoca en los aportes del movimiento de comercio justo al desarrollo sostenible. El principal objetivo del comercio justo se ve reflejado, de manera general, en el cambio de los actuales patrones insostenibles de producción y de consumo (ods número 12). Desde varias décadas, el comercio justo propone una nueva manera de entender la producción y el consumo, desde un enfoque multidimensional que involucra aspectos económicos, sociales, medioambientales y políticos. El comercio justo busca un desarrollo más inclusivo, justo y sostenible, mediante el fomento de patrones productivos y de consumos alternativos y solidarios. Su enfoque de desarrollo es multi-stakeholder, porque incluye a varios actores de las cadenas globales de valor: productores, trabajadores, cooperativas, empresas, exportadores, importadores, supermercados, tiendas especializadas y consumidores finales. Además, es multinivel, porque los niveles local, nacional, regional y global comparten una responsabilidad común y construyen juntos nuevos caminos de sostenibilidad.
