Cuidados y servicios sociales frente a la dependencia en el marco del envejecimiento demográfico en México

Abstract

En este artículo se realiza un recuento de la forma en que el tema de los cuidados ha surgido en el marco de la investigación sociodemográfica sobre los apoyos sociales. Se revisan antecedentes y se aportan algunas evidencias cuantitativas y cualitativas recientes para enmarcar el modo en que se está abordando el tema del cuidado en México y las dimensiones que se deberían incluir en el diseño de políticas públicas sobre la materia. Finalmente, se realizan algunas recomendaciones sobre las dimensiones que no pueden escapar de la discusión sobre los cuidados y la dependencia.
