Abstract

La vivencia de la ancianidad de cada persona puede ser muy diferente en todos los aspectos, también en el que constituye el objeto de este artículo: la autonomía. De todos modos, para un porcentaje muy relevante de ancianos, a partir de un momento de su vida más o menos tardío, el ejercicio de la autonomía resulta problemático desde diversas perspectivas, más cuando a los achaques propios de la edad se les añaden los impactos de las enfermedades crónicas, y cuando a ello se suman relaciones y contextos sociales discriminatorios y marginadores.
