Abstract

Este informe se realizó en forma conjunta, bajo la orientación de la Comisión Económica para América Latina y el Caribe (CEPAL), con el Departamento Nacional de Planeación (DNP) de Colombia y con el apoyo técnico y financiero del Banco Interamericano de Desarrollo (BID), como parte de un acuerdo interinstitucional DNP-BID-Cepal para “evaluar el impacto económico del fenómeno de la Niña en Colombia”, y como respuesta a la solicitud del gobierno colombiano. El objetivo de este documento es presentar información sobre el impacto económico, así como algunos aspectos de carácter social, poblacional y ambiental, consecuencia de los eventos climáticos de la estación invernal en Colombia, en el periodo octubre 2010 a mayo 2011. En él se lleva a cabo una descripción del evento, seguida de una cuantificación de los daños en los principales sectores, y se presenta una evaluación del impacto macroeconómico.
