La electromovilidad en el transporte público de América Latina

Abstract

El desarrollo de este estudio se enmarca en la línea de trabajo “Transporte Limpio” de la estrategia de Movilidad Urbana de CAF. Con ella, la institución busca facilitar y promover el uso del transporte público de bajas o cero emisiones y complementar el apoyo a varias ciudades de la región que han iniciado este proceso de forma incipiente. Partiendo de esta investigación se pretende buscar alternativas de financiamiento y normativas para propiciar la sustitución de la flota convencional de autobuses movidos por combustibles fósiles, por vehículos eléctricos o híbridos en los sistemas de transporte público urbano de América Latina. Para ello, se analiza en primer lugar el marco de la política actual, relacionada con los incentivos o la regulación favorables para propiciar un proceso de sustitución de las flotas de autobuses a nivel nacional o local. El estudio presenta una revisión detallada del proceso de implementación y los resultados hasta ahora obtenidos en las ciudades de Bogotá, Quito, Montevideo y Santiago.
