Abstract

Study commissioned by the Chemnitz Chamber of Industry and Commerce (Industrie- und Handelskammer Chemnitz) The state has invested heavily in trying to cushion the economic impact of the coronavirus pandemic on companies and their employees. The question now arises as to how this should be assessed in retrospect and what lessons can be learned for future crisis situations. The following can be said for the organization of support after the outbreak of a crisis: Support measures must be provided in good time, be targeted and ultimately remain temporary. For the most part, this applied to the coronavirus aid measures.
