Abstract

Flood disaster risk management is a complex systems engineering endeavor. Flood disaster risk is composed of flood hazard, flood vulnerability, and flood disaster losses. From an engineering perspective and a practical standpoint, this book systematically discusses the fundamental concepts of flood disaster risk management, the flood disaster system theory, analytical methods for flood hazard, analytical methods for flood vulnerability, analytical methods for flood disaster losses, and decision‑making methods for flood disaster risk management. It provides a large number of application examples and, to the extent possible, reflects the latest developments in research on flood disaster risk management.This book serves as a reference for engineering and technical personnel, engineering managers, and researchers engaged in disaster management, risk management, and water conservancy project construction, and can also be used as a graduate textbook for relevant disciplines in higher education institutions.
