Abstract

This is the third collection of papers under the FOPRISA confference proceedings series. They were presentes at the 2008 FOPRISA Annual Conference, which was held at the Centurion Lake Hotel, South Africa, on 18 and 19 November 2008. The papers included here are a general discussion about monitoring Southern African cooperation and integration and the relations of SADC with international cooperating partners; and thematic presentations on Democratic Development (the role of civil society in SADC integration); Politics, Defence and Security (peace support operations); Regional Trade and its Relations to the International Trade System (trade with China and links between trade and poverty reduction); and Economic Harmonisation, Finance and Investment (cross-border investments).
