Abstract

The paper “Conceptual frame for equal treatment of women” (in Bulgarian) presents chapter one of the monographic study „Socio-economic infrastructure and guarantees for equal treatment of women in Bulgaria”, done in the period 2002-2004 within the framework of the scientific and research programme of the Economic Research Institute at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences. The publication is realized with a financial support of the Foundation “Center for Women Searches and Policy”. The following issues are argued in the paper: the concepts of equality and equal treatment – de jure vs de facto; the legal and institutional guarantees for equal treatment of women in Bulgaria in the light of the world and Europe; the gender oriented budgeting as a fundamental precondition for the building of the socio-economic infrastructure for equal treatment of women.
