Abstract
This study reveals that the growth and yield of mungbean cultivars affect the cultivar and amount of phosphorus. Experimental treatments compared with four types of mungbean viz. BINAMung-1, BINAMung-4, BARIMung-5, and BARIMung-6 have four amount types of phosphorus application viz. 0, 30, 60 and 90 kg P2O5 per hactere. Results of phosphorus expressed that plant crown, a lot branches per plant, and dry weight per plant were significantly influenced by only phosphorus but in the case of variety plant height was important at 40 DAS, 50 DAS, and harvest respectively but 60 DAS was non-significant. The most plant height, the amount of branch per plant, and dry weight per plant were obtained in BARI Mung-5 with 90 kg Pâ‚‚O, ha-1,60 kg P2O5 ha-1 and 60 kg P2O5 ha-1 during 40-60 DAS, 50-60 DAS, and 50-60 DAS. Yield and yield contributing characters such as the highest number of pod plants, pod length, number of seeds pod-1, seed yield, and Stover yield were obtained from BARIMung-5 compared to other varieties studied. Application of phosphorus up to 60 kg P2O5 ha-1 increased the number of pods plant-1, pod length, number of seeds pod-1, seed yield, Stover yield, and 1000 seed weight. Beyond maximum dose of phosphorus reduce the values of all these parameters BARIMung-5 fertilized with 60 kg P2O5 ha-1 gave the highest seed yield compared with other treatments in the experiment.
