Die Einwohnerzahlermittlung für verbandsangehörige Gemeinden im Zensus 2022

Abstract

Der Beitrag erläutert das beim Zensus 2022 angewendete Verfahren zur Ermittlung der Einwohnerzahlen der verbandsangehörigen Gemeinden in den Ländern Niedersachsen, Rheinland-Pfalz, Thüringen, Schleswig-Holstein und MecklenburgVorpommern, welche in Deutschland eine besonders kleinteilige Gemeindestruktur aufweisen. Für den Zensus 2022 erfolgte im Gegensatz zum Zensus 2011 auch in Gemeinden mit weniger als 10000 Einwohnerinnen und Einwohnern eine stichprobenbasierte Schätzung der Einwohnerzahlen. Dabei stellten die geringen Fallzahlen der Stichprobenanschriften in diesen Gemeinden für diese Schätzungen eine besondere Herausforderung dar. Der Artikel erläutert, wie für diese Gemeinden durch die Kombination der Informationen aus der Stichprobe mit Melderegisterdaten plausible Schätzungen generiert werden konnten.
